Tips Concerning Self-Review Questions (SRQs) Please work the SRQs on a regular basis. They will help ensure that we're "on the same page." They should also reduce your stress level somewhat. These self-review questions are related to qz/exam questions; HOWEVER, they ARE NOT THE ACTUAL QUESTIONS. Berliner Video SRQs 1. At the outset of the interview, ID some examples which demonstrate the father's perceived lack of suitability to be interviewed...these are from the father's perspective... 2. As the interview unfolds, what role did the father's childhood experiences play in shaping his answers? 3. Some would suggest that the son is "too pushy" throughtout the interview? What is your position and why? Jim would suggest...?? 4. Real-life interviews often are messy and uncomfortable. Describe some examples of the father's language that help increase the tension and perpetuatate stereotypes. 5. Interviews usually present an ebb and flow. To what extent is this interview smooth-flowing? 6. Intuit about the father's underlying emotional states. Link that analysis to some specific messages. For example, if you believe the father is relatively disengaged, then, what messages would support that assessment? ************************************************** Cawyer and Smith-Dupre HIV/AIDS Support Grp Piece SRQS 1. Describe the nature and pervasiveness of the AIDS/HIV stigma...focus on the parallel with leprosy, the reactions of many health care providers, and the Matthew Shepherd case in the BIG SKY country (young gay savagely killed and protestors carrying placards at his funeral). 2. Similar to other STDs (sexually transmitted diseases), the info environment surrounding AIDS is replete with....hint---think doorknobs and toilet seats as "sources of transmission"...recall also, the mail carrier current event article....explain how AIDS is transmitted... 3. Be ready for examples....Are support grps for everyone and equally therapeutic?? Why or why not?? 5. Be very familiar with the research design of this study and ID the two key conditions that had to be agreed upon prior to gaining access. 6. ERE the support grp phases found in this study.
